Scintillate and Shift-This was shown at the Central Saint Martins student show CMSxCSM-Entangled. It is inspired by calorimeter designs that use doped plastics.
Coreen was the first of a series of images called Body Language. The body shapes were inspired by Feynman diagrams for various particle physics interactions.
This sculpture was shown in 2013 as part of ESPC2013 and also at the IoP Spring meeting at Royal Holloway. The shape evolved from a Feynman diagram for beta decay.
In May 2012 I created an intervention at Acland Burghley secondary school. This was based on the process by which particle physicists gather event data, and involved dropping 3000 balls on 3 groups of students. This video recorded the day's events.
The CMS experiment opened up for access to inner detectors during a maintainance session.
